Bhutan Pine

Pinus wallichiana, known as Bhutan Pine, Blue Pine, or Himalayan White Pine, is a striking conifer that brings a touch of the majestic Himalayas to your Garden. Native to elevations of 6,000 to 12,000 feet from eastern Afghanistan to northern Burma, this medium to tall evergreen boasts a graceful, pyramidal shape that matures into a broad crown. Its gray-green needles, up to 8 inches long, grow in bundles of five, casting an elegant droop as they mature. The tree's slender, resinous cones measure 6-10 inches and hang from 1-2 inch stalks, turning to a light brown hue with age. Initially smooth and gray-green, the bark ages into a deeply fissured dark brown.

Perfect for large gardens, it thrives in moist, acidic, well-drained sandy loams and sunny, sheltered spots out of harsh winter winds. 

We are able to supply seedlings  at least 6 inches tall in a 5 inch pot from November.
