Acacia podalyriifolia or the Queensland Silver Wattle is a fast growing, hardy,  but short lived very handsome small tree with silvery grey foliage and puffy sprays of perfumed golden yellow flowers.
The Queensland Silver Wattle is a perennial tree which is fast-growing and widely cultivated. It is native to Australia.
The tree will do well planted outside in Southern England or in urban/sheltered/coastal spots. In more northern/cold areas, the silver wattle can be grown as a container plant and brought into greenhouse/conservatory or given protection winter.  This fast growing beautiful little evergreen tree produces masses of fragrant yellow flowers in spring. The flowers are yellow and fragrant. They form in the autumn but don’t come out until early spring, so don’t prune after late summer if you want flowers the following spring.
